Nick Spivak researches lunar habitats with Professor Haym Benaroya by characterizing lava tubes to design a pressurized habitat within them.

Nick also builds solid-motor rockets, flies them, and uses the data to improve his simulations that model them. In the past, he designed an eight motor electric aircraft sized to the FAA regulated 115 kg limit. What interests Nick most is the guidance and control that decides whether a vehicle ends up where it was aimed, especially through descent and landing.
